Cait Murphy is a versatile singer whose warm alto voice blends the soulful depth of gospel, the raw emotion of blues, and the storytelling essence of folk, while singing across a wide variety of genres. She began singing and playing guitar at the age of 9 and by 13, was performing both gospel and original compositions at churches, events, and competitions throughout New England. After high school, she spent a year in a vocal group that performed musical productions in venues across the East Coast, Nashville, New Orleans, and Houston. Instead of signing on for another year abroad, she left the stage to raise a family and pursue other passions. Now, after more than three decades, she has returned to the music scene with a mature alto voice seasoned by life experience. Her vocal talents have more recently found her on recordings by Chris Albertson, and performing in venues across New Hampshire.
An accomplished guitarist and composer, Chris transcends styles and influences across Blues, Rock, Swing, Pop and Classical. His diverse repertoire includes standards, Bebop, modern jazz. His unique arrangements of pop music delight audiences. Chris has been playing with great musicians on stages and events, across New England for over three decades. He has worked with The Platters, Amy London, The Vermont Philharmonic, Straight No Chaser, Mike Turk, Vito Dieterle to name a few. In other ventures, Chris has worked with dance companies, big bands, performance artists, and numerous guest appearances as studio guitarist and arranger.

There's something for everyone!
Joni Mitchell Retrospective celebrates the life and music of multi-Grammy award, Kennedy Center Honoree and 2023 Gershwin Prize winning Joni Mitchell. Her music reflects our times since the mid 60’s throughout the 21st century. Much of her work is still relevant today and prophetic in its time.
The songs performed represent Joni’s development both as a musician and person. She had an uncanny way of finding the heart of what was happening in American culture, music, and politics. Discussions include Joni’s inspirations for her work, personal experiences, friendships, fellow musicians, and her influence on numerous songwriters and artists who followed.
The intent of the presentation is to honor the importance of her work as an artist, woman, musician, and vocalist.
Women of Jazz celebrates the contribution of women throughout the many eras of jazz history, from the mothers of jazz to the current Grammy winners and nominees!
Although jazz is known as cool, avant-garde, improvisational, and touted for the freedom it permits its players. Surprisingly, jazz has been slow to embrace women musicians. While women were famous for their singing, they achieved much less recognition for their contributions as composers, songwriters, bandleaders, instrumentalists' producers and directors.
Today’s women of jazz are part of the continuing evolution of empowerment, and indications are, the journey isn’t over. The musicians and songs curated for this performance tell the story of this evolution and journey of empowerment and the gift we all receive as a result.
